Tie Rods / Inline Tie Rods / Cylinder Sockets

Tie rods are utilized to connect the axle wheel knuckles and transmit steering forces.
THK develops and produces tie rods for various load applications. The portfolio includes fixed length, single or two-end adjustment, telescoping adjustment, offset forgings and custom tube bending to accommodate axle packaging.
Tie rods consist of a tube or bar intermediate, and two socket ends to adapt the design to customer space requirements. The length of links and rods can be adjusted to accommodate axle length adjustments and optimize wheel alignment.

Inline tie rods are used in hydraulic steering applications to connect the steer cylinder to the wheel knuckle and transmit steering forces. THK develops and produces inline tie rods for various load applications.
Inline tie rods consist of an inline socket, intermediate tube, and outer socket to adapt the design to customer space requirements.  The length of links and rods can be adjusted to accommodate axle length adjustments and optimize wheel alignment.

Cylinder sockets are used in hydraulic steering applications to connect the steer cylinder to the wheel knuckle and transmit steering forces.  They are integrated directly into the cylinder housing and rod end.  THK develops and produces cylinder sockets for various load applications.  The portfolio includes multiple options for attachment, including capsule sockets, internal and external threads, or turned shafts to be welded to the cylinder.
